Track 3: Reconstructive Surgery

Surgery is performed to restore an individual’s body i.e. to improve the functioning of the body parts. It covers a wide range of conditions. Reconstructive surgery is performed to restore faces after trauma and to reconstruct the head and neck after cancer. The common feature is that the operation attempts to restore the anatomy or the function of the body part to normal. Track 4: Skin Rejuvenation and Resurfacing

Skin irregularities are caused due to skin disorders, Sun, aging and even heredity on the face and elsewhere on the body. These include textural abnormalities like lines, wrinkles, acne scars, pigmentation changes like freckles and sunspots, or visible blood vessels. Skin becomes less firm and certain areas of the body may develop cellulite conditions, or may feel less firm. Cosmetology is the training and application of beauty treatments. It includes several branches, hairstyling, skin care, cosmetics, manicures/pedicures, and electrology. The various methods included are Esthetics: the study of applying make-up and performing facials, massages, waxing and reflexology. Nail Technology: the study of the art of nail art, design, tips, forms, wraps and gels. Electrolysis: a medically recognized permanent hair removal method for face and body. Teacher Training: a program of instruction to prepare a cosmetologist to teach future cosmetologists. To ensure they meet minimum standards for competency and safe practice, proper cosmetology education and training is required.
