Abstract:

The vaginoplasty with lipofilling technique is a simple mini-invasive method that is not currently described in the literature. As Being myself the Inventor of this procedure I wanted to share my experience in that domain and illustrate its efficiency and safety.

My excellent results encouraged me to share my experience without any delay.  and I have been teaching this Technique around the world , and so far I have trained more than 100 plastic surgeons to introduce this procedure in their daily practice and has shared this Novel procedure in many international meetings worldwide, i am today convinced that A multicenter clinical trial is necessary to described more thoroughly the effectiveness  of this technique and the stability of the results in the medium and long term, I am at the disposal of any interested team around the world.

This Procedure is non invasive, safe when it is done properly and has many advantages:
- long term results
- Non-invasive

Abstract:

The extended running W-plasty technique using the W-plasty principle is a modification of the conventional technique. The use of this technique was utilized for simultaneous reduction of the protuberant labia minora and the redundant clitoris. Twenty-three patients presented to the plastic surgery clinic between 2010 and 2017 with the complaints of protuberant and enlarged labia minora in conjunction with a hypertrophied clitorial hood. The extended running W-plasty was performed in all patients. Surgery was performed under general anesthesia as an outpatient procedure with a range of operative time from 30-45 min. The Likert scale was used to evaluate outcomes. Patients maintained labial length with decreased scarring. Small hematomas occurred in 2 patients and were treated conservatively. One case of wound dehiscence occurred and was also treated conservatively. Patients returned to normal activity 5-7 days postoperatively. The cosmetic outcome of all patients was very satisfactory. The running W-plasty technique is ideal for closure of secondary defects following excision of both the redundant labia minora and clitoral hood, while maintaining length and providing tensionless scars. The technique conserves the original tissues while avoiding over- or under- resection of the labia.

Jingyi Zhao was graduatded from Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences & Peking Union Medical College in July 2017 and  got her doctor’s degree.During the 5 years in Plastic Hospital in Beijing, she learned basic skills of plastic and reconstrucive surgeries, Craniomaxillofacial  surgeries and Cosmetic surgerys.3 SCI articles were published during this period. This manuscript above was one of her clinicle studies, which reported the  use of patient reported outcome measures (PROMS) and patient satisfaction score for the assessment of the outcome of double eyelid surgery in Chinese. It can bu used for blepharoplasty  and other kinds of cosmetic surgeries, which has great  clinical application values, should be popularized.

Abstract:

Statement of the Problem: We previously reported consistent good outcome with the surgical techniques of integration of our modified Z-epicanthoplasty with blepharoplasty. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the surgical outcome from the patient’s perspective using the patient reported outcome measures (PROMS) and patient satisfaction scores. Methodology & Theoretical Orientation: A total of patients (n=180) underwent the surgery between January 2013 to June 2016 were randomly selected to participate in this study. Standardized patient satisfaction form (total score of 40) and validated PROMs questionnaires (total score of 12) were sent to patients for completion. The PROMS consisted of domains which assessed the severity of the scarring, pain, asymmetry, functional and appearances issues. Non-responders were followed up by telephone reminders at 4 weeks later to maximize response rate. Findings: All the patients were females, ranging from 18 to 35 (mean =24) with a response rate of 73.3% (n=132). Majority of patient reported good or excellent outcomes based on the analysis of the results collected from the PROMs. Patients reported minimum or non-visible scarring at both the double eyelid surgical scar (85.6%) and the inner canthus (80.3%) respectively. Functional and appearance issues was minimum with 80.3% reported satisfied with both domains. There is a positive linear correlation between PROMS and patient satisfaction rate (p<0.05). Conclusion & Significance: Integration of our modified Z-epicanthoplasty with blepharoplasty yield good outcome based on the results obtained from the patient report outcome measures, which shown positive linear relationship to the patients’ satisfaction score. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first attempt using the patient reported outcome measures in Asian double eyelid surgery and we advocate its use to standardize the evaluation of post-operative outcomes.
